Following Jesus Christ, The Leprosy Mission works with persons affected by leprosy, partners and supporters towards a world where leprosy is defeated and there is healing, dignity, inclusion, and life in all its fullness. First and foremost, this is God’s mission. Individually and collectively, He has called us to this work.
The triple-zero goals: zero transmission, zero disability and zero discrimination. By 2035 in the countries where we work:
The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is an international Christian charity, founded in 1874, and now bringing healing and restoration to some 300,000 people affected by leprosy in 30 countries. The Mission works both directly, through its own hospitals and programmes, and in partnership with churches, voluntary agencies, patient organisations, governments and international organisations to meet the broad-ranging needs of people affected by leprosy.
In 1874, there was no cure for leprosy and we did not understand how the disease was transmitted. We could not correct impairments through surgery and physiotherapy and we could not prevent the disease. Today, we are lightyears ahead and it is in no small part thanks to our scientists and researchers.
